Department of Orthopaedics

The focus areas of the Department include:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate education
  • Safe and quality healthcare to patients with congenital trauma and musculoskeletal problems
  • Basic and clinical research.

The Department’s faculties are active participants in the undergraduate curriculum for the M.B.B.S., B.P.T., B.O.T., B.Sc. Nursing and B.D.S. and Allied Health Sciences programmes. The stronghold in education is at the postgraduate level for its Diploma and M.S. programmes in Orthopaedics, Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. The Department’s faculty also lends its hands as a guide for Ph.D. programmes of the University.

  • One of our student’s research which was conducted in Santosh -Perioral age- related changes in smile dynamics along the vertical plane .A videographic cross-sectional study is published in a permit job.

Student Enrichment Programme:

  • Xavier Cherbavaz, director France and emerging mkts; Steffen saupe Director Dealer Marjets, Ormco, Visited Santosh Dental College on 24th September 2015 and had an interactive session with student and staff.
  • Cleft Lip and Palate: Dr.Agnetta Marcusson,Sweden and Dr.Puneet Batra, I.D.S.T. on 13th Feb.’2014 at Santosh University.Students and IOS members were invited and attended the lecture in large numbers.
  • Indian Orthodontic Society Smile Torch event 16th Feb. 2015 with lecture by Dr. O.P. Kharbanda, AIIMS at Santosh University with more than 100 participants. IOS members and students from the region participated.
  • Miguel Moral,C.E.O, Nemotech (Spain) visited Santosh Dental College and Hospital on 12TH April 2008 and conducted workshop on “Digital Cephalometrics”
