Vision of Dr.P.Mahalingam, Founder & Chairman of Santosh University, brought into existence the "Maharaji Education Trust" in the year 1993. The Trust took the onus of imparting quality medical, Dental, Para Medical and Paradental Education to a wide range of health professionals, bio-medical scientists and other health related personnel through its Medical, Dental, Paramedical and Paradental colleges in Chennai and Ghaziabad. All the colleges are supported by on campus super specialty teaching hospitals.

Santosh University is an institution of higher learning, with a triple mission of education, service, and research. In addition to offering degrees in Medicine, Dentistry. The University provides an environment for learning and discovery through education of health care professionals and bio-medical students, research in health science and comprehensive health care.

Within a few year of its inception, the Maharaji Educational Trust proved to be a unique model institution rendering state-of-the-art medical education. On reviewing its excellent performances with respect to academic and infrastructural facilities, Government of India in exercise of its power, conferred by section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 granted Deemed University Status under the name and style of "Santosh University", on 13th June 2007 presently comes under Santosh Trust.


Along with patient care, medical research is a primary focus at the Santosh University. Ongoing scientific research occupies a major and important part of its activities. The University is well equipped with a state-of-the-art research center which keeps the patients and the extended medical community abreast with the latest developments.
